Things feel different. Are more people accepting a Black educated man to be their lawful President? I have that hunch. My hunch all along would be that this Country is going through death/growth pains/pangs.
Pangs in that some are pining for the 'way it (never) was'. There never was a Fabulous 50's, except on your 17 inch black & white Admiral. Ike presided over a country that threw some citizens in jail for eating at a Woolworth's lunch counter and others lost their livelihoods because they coundn't prove they didn't lean to the Left when they talked. Is that the Time/Space/Country the Uppity Negro from Kenya stole?
As I said, my hunch is that this thinking is shrinking like a deflated convention balloon. Soon it will be in the recycled plastic bin...
