The Republicans are disappointed because President Obama's Budget does not call to raise the Social Security retirement age or limit popular tax breaks such as the mortgage interest deduction. Meanwhile, the rich continue their tax breaks and Republican pressure keeps us spending two Billion Dollars per cay in Afghanistan (wouldn't be manly to pull out). Being a pampered State Employee targeted by many Republicans as the Unionized reason for our financial woes, I wonder why I haven't had a raise in years, why I am taking furlough days, why my retirement is being threatened. Now doomsayers are saying if the deficit isn't slashed and burned in five years we will be Greece. I think I miss worrying about the Bomb. Guess it's only human nature to crave drama. How about some comedy tonight?
